What We Do
The Protective Services Officer is to ensure and maintain the safety and security of all company personell, visitors,property and assets.This is done through proactive patrols of DOJ property. Safety and security is also achieved through the monitoring of computer systems including but not limited to building management,access control,fire detection CCTV and visitor management.
The International Guard Union of America’s mission is to serve as a voice for Federal Protective Security Officers and security professionals in the Eastern District of Tennessee, Memphis and Jackson.Thousands of Protective Security Officers provide a fundamental protective service to federal agencies as contractors with the Department of justice (DOJ) for Homeland Security Federal Protective Service.These bargaining unit employees need to have their workplace concerns and interests represented to their employer with passion, integrity, and fairness. IGUA delivers a comprehensive employee and labor relations program that will provide high quality service to officers by representing their interests and negotiating with the employer for results that create a better workplace. Our union is characterized by three core values: personalized service, transparency, and results.
